Anthropologie from Yesteryear: Raining, Pouring Blouse

I dug this old Anthropologie blouse from the back of my closet, totally forgot about it.  So my goal this week is to wear items that I have not reached for in awhile or have not worn at all.

Anthropologie belt
Forever21 pants

I was going to start a shopping ban but I'm trying to be realistic and I know if I stop cold I'll be setting myself up for failure.  So I'm starting my shopping prohibition.   I am prohibiting myself to buy anything full price.  If I do purchase an item it needs to be at least 50% off and for the first time in my life I am setting a monthly budget of $100, OUCH!  But money earned from consignments stores are included in the budget.

Wish me luck!  Have you ever tried some sort of a shopping ban?

  1. Cute blouse! I'm trying to ban myself from shopping in huge chain stores. Especially stores that basically sell disposable clothing. But it's not easy when I see other people wearing super cute trendy cheap things! It's a good thing I have a closet full of clothes and my red Tsubos to comfort me!

    1. Thanks! I respect that. Everyone has their own thing.

I like mixing low end with high end items. I tend to shop at Forever21 for my trendy items but I also have clothing from there that I've had for years that held better than items I've purchased through Nordstrom, just depends on what the item is. To me anything trendy is considered disposable clothing, trends come and go so it doesn't really matter if you get it from a high end store or F21 because it'll be outdated in a few months and re-cycle again in a few years so I don't see the point on shelling out big bucks for it unless it's a handbag. My handbag is my home for the day so I tend to invest in those and wrap dresses from Diane von Furstenberg, my fashion crush.

  2. I was thinking of doing the same thing... but when you bring out such a beautiful blouse that you had forgotten about, it makes the thought of a ban much easier, no?

    This is the cutest blouse!

And thanks for visiting my blog -- hope to see you again!

    1. Thanks Erin! It's been a day and I'm off to Anthropologie to get a dress that just went on sale but I have something to exchange and it'll just be $10 difference. You should try it and we can do it together. I'm taking it one day at a time. But it def makes me take stock of what I already have.

Thanks for following and will def be stopping by.

  3. Love that blouse, and nope I've never tried a shopping ban. I simply couldn't last because I live right behind Michigan Avenue in Chicago and 40 paces from Nordstrom. But if you do try it good luck :)

    1. So how many times do you go shopping? I've been to Michigan Avenue a couple of times and that's a shoppers dream. If I lived there not a day would go by that I wouldn't be shopping/buying one thing or another. I also visited a couple of flea markets while visiting a few years ago and it was great. I'll actually be back in October for my brother-in-law's wedding. They live by Michigan Ave as well.

  4. Ha I love this! You look gorgeous in this blouse! And I definitely use the no full price shopping as my strategy overall (unless it's a place like H&M) - good luck girl!

  5. Hi! Nice blog and good outfits. I once set myself the goal of not buying anything new until I had worn everything I had already bought at least once! And I still have a shirt that has the store tags on it from last year so I guess that didn't work. Good luck with your goal.

    1. Thanks Loulou! I totally know how that is but think your challenge was harder than mine. I def have clothes in my closet with tags still attached but haven't had an occasion to wear it so it hangs there waiting to make it's debut.

  6. Love your shirt and pants! I tried a shopping ban and it didn't work well at all. I give myself a weekly budget instead and it works well. Good luck!
