Stylish Futuristic Shoes

Happy Friday Everyone!  While goofing around the net this morning I stumbled across this from

It sounds like something from a science-fiction movie, but it may not be far off. A company called 3D Systems, which has been working with complex printing technology for the past 25 years, is getting ready to release Cube: an at-home 3-D printer that will enable people to design and print products from prosthetic legs to hearing aids to, yes, shoes.
The printer, which 3D systems says will be available later this year, will cost $1,299 and come with Wi-Fi, 25 free files, and the plastic, Lego-like material required to create a few initial projects. You'll be able to design your own products or browse, where users can upload and sell designs.

These reminds me of jelly shoes like the brand Melissa

I am all over this one.  I wouldn't be able to walk on it but it looks cool

3-D Machine

I think the machine is fairly priced considering a handbag could cost as much and I can totally see people purchasing this at home system to create jewelry and shoes then selling their creation at Etsy.  The only thing they didn't mention is how much the lego like materials would cost.  It's not available yet but they are touring different cities for the unveiling.  They will be in Beverly Hills on April 10th.

What do you think?  Yay or Nay?

  1. I'm so intrigued! I've never heard of this and don't really understand it, to be honest, but I love the idea of making my own shoes!!! Gotta check out that website now...

    1. Have you ever seen the laser printer that makes a 3-D portraits of you in a glass cube? Same ideaThe machine prints it in 3-D by building it one layer at a time. Think of it as a block and the machine lasers your shoe design and viola! Your custom shoes.

I would love to hear from you. Positive and constructive criticism is always welcome.
