High Waisted Trouser Jeans

I have plenty of jeans. I go through stages on which silhouette I like wearing months at a time.  I guess it really depends on the kind of shoes I feel like wearing with it and the weather outside because I have so much that they are all different lengths for different heel heights.  I have my trusted skinnies that are great with both flats and pumps.  Then there are pairs that are just for going out which are darker and dressier.  The ones that you can just throw a dressy top on and go.  I also have work jeans which are also dark but are more like a trouser cut and high wasted.

I love this take on them.  The one of the left is more work appropriate and Miranda Kerr's take is casual.

I took both looks above and combined it here.

Anthropologie blazer and necklace (Old)
Forever21 yellow button down blouse
Vintage Bracelet
Belt from Savers

Ferragamo Booties.

It's still a little cold and cloudy, raining on and off.  I'm off to get my eye exam and hit up some vintage shops.  I have $50 left for the month and I'm gonna stretch it as far as I can.

Inspiration Monday: Miranda Kerr

I'm finally taking part of Two Birds Inspiration Monday, Miranda Kerr.  It's actually warm today so I couldn't wear a cardigan, I was already sweating while taking these pictures but I should enjoy it today considering it'll be raining the rest of the week.  This is definitely my kind o outfit.

I'm running errands today so this is the perfect outfit.

I love this handmade necklace I purchased in the Philippines.

I haven't used this handbag and shoes in a while but it's one of my favorites.  I haven't told DH about my shopping prohibition, don't want to jinx myself so every time I pull something out of the closet that I haven't worn he asks is that new?

What would you have done?

Guess what this series is called?  Yup! It's called What Would You Have Done?

A few days ago me and DH saw 21 Jump Street.  While waiting for the movie to start a group of about 6 people walked in and counted the seats next to us, we were the only ones seated in that row.  The movie theatre wasn't full but everyone was scattered.  Within five minutes four more people came in that was part of the group and they started to figure out if they can all sit together.  They looked like they were looking for a whole row that'll sit everyone in their group.  Part of the group gave up and sat down a few rows in front of us but one of the lady was still trying to make it work and this went on for close to ten minutes.  The movie is about to start and I hear chatter within the group sitting in our row.  The person next to me then turns to me and asked if we can move two seats to the left making room for two people that came in.  Again the movie theatre was not full which is beside the point. I politely whispered,  No.I came early so that I can seat right here, pointing down at my seat. He then turned to her direction and shook his head and said, no.  She was a little dumbfounded asking, What? Why not? Then he finally raised his voice and said NO!Then the movie started.

My reasoning:
We came in early so that we can choose our seats, which is situated, (at least in my mind) in the middle of the screen and I am not going to move because you didn't give yourself enough time to show up early to pick your seats or have a couple of people in the group come early to hold seats.  Besides it's a movie. Do 12 of you really need to be seated together?  You're not supposed to talk anyway and it's not like you're sharing popcorn and if you were I still wouldn't move.

After the movie I asked DH if he heard what the guy asked me and he said, Yea. I didn't hear what you said but I figured you said no. I wouldn't have moved either.  I've seen a whole row get up and move so that a couple can sit together not to mention it was opening night and the theatre was packed.  Really?  You just inconvenience 10+ people to move so that you can sit together when it's your fault for being late.  News flash you can find each other by the door after the movie is over, it's gonna be OK.

Do you think was I being unreasonable?  What would you have done?

DH baked this bread so I wanted to share.  It's such a pretty homemade bread and it's really good too.

A very green Easter

You probably have to squint to see me considering I blend into the background.  This is what I wore to church and usually I would think that this is a little bit too loud for mass but hey it's Easter so I opted for a bright green and pink wrap dress.

The dress is a little long and I'm debating if I should get it shortened about two inches so that it will be just above my knees or just wear higher heels to balance it out.  I've had it for almost two years and this is my second time wearing it so obviously I can't make up my mind to shorten or not.  What do you think?

Here's a sneak peak of what I purchased at the flea market yesterday, vintage Coach signature leather used as a clutch.

For reference I am vertically challenged at 5 feet tall and from this picture I'm leaning towards getting it altered.

Inspiration Friday: Zoe Saldana

DH is in love with Zoe Saldana.  He doesn't think she's a great actress but he does think she's pretty hot.  I say he can have her and I'll have Bradley Cooper or Chris Hemsworth, better yet, I'll have both.  When I saw this I said hey we're style twins.  I've sported this look many times.  I guess Bradley Cooper isn't the only thing we have in common.

Not so casual Friday Outfit
I wanted to wear something I've never worn before and that item today is the gold Spaniard coin necklace I've had for three years purchased from Savers.  When I got it I soaked it in a liquid jewelry cleaner and it cleaned it so well that it made it too shiny and blingy?  I wanted to dress up this outfit vs. Zoe's casual attire so what's a better way than adding some shiny, bright coin gold necklace.  My risk felt a little left out so I added the gold cuff from F21.

DH was supposed to zoom in on the necklace but he didn't so I don't have a close up but take my word for it, it's a great vintage piece.  This weekend is flea market weekend and I hope to find some treasures.

Have a great weekend!

Stylish Futuristic Shoes

Happy Friday Everyone!  While goofing around the net this morning I stumbled across this from Today.com

It sounds like something from a science-fiction movie, but it may not be far off. A company called 3D Systems, which has been working with complex printing technology for the past 25 years, is getting ready to release Cube: an at-home 3-D printer that will enable people to design and print products from prosthetic legs to hearing aids to, yes, shoes.
The printer, which 3D systems says will be available later this year, will cost $1,299 and come with Wi-Fi, 25 free files, and the plastic, Lego-like material required to create a few initial projects. You'll be able to design your own products or browse Cubify.com, where users can upload and sell designs.

These reminds me of jelly shoes like the brand Melissa

I am all over this one.  I wouldn't be able to walk on it but it looks cool

3-D Machine
$1299

I think the machine is fairly priced considering a handbag could cost as much and I can totally see people purchasing this at home system to create jewelry and shoes then selling their creation at Etsy.  The only thing they didn't mention is how much the lego like materials would cost.  It's not available yet but they are touring different cities for the unveiling.  They will be in Beverly Hills on April 10th.

What do you think?  Yay or Nay?

OOTD and Talbots Ramblings

Here we go again.  Another forgotten item, this Anthro blouse.  I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I did work there for 6.5 years.  I used the tie of the blouse as a belt.

Anthro Blouse
Kate Spade pants form Nordstrom Rack for $42.  AMAZIIIIING!!!

Talbots Toe cap shoes purchased for $30

My work bag is a tote that house my computer and camera so I have everything else in my LV toiletry pouch, great size for makeup and my credit card wallet.

When I had my styling business and I would tell my clients that we're going to Talbots they always had this confused face followed by isn't that a store for older women?  I don't blame them because that's what it was a couple of years back but they have a new buyer and changed their marketing, a total facelift of the brand with Julian Moore as a spokesmodel in 2011.  The face for Talbots in 2012 is Linda Evangelista.  Remember her?  She's the model who said "We don't wake up for less than $10,000 a day".  She was talking about money and how she and a few other models were calling the shots and changing the game in the 90's, before movie stars covered the front page of magazines there were supermodels.

Talbots was just named fashion brands most often purchased by luxury consumers, who knew?  Here's the link to the article, beating out Armani and Gucci, Shocker! http://www.parexcellencemagazine.com/the-luxury-market-business/talbots-picks-linda-evangelista-for-upcoming-ad-campaign.html
Talbots reminds me of Ann Taylor for their career friendly items and JCrew for their casual looks, same price point.  Here are some examples.

Zigzag Stripe Voile full skirt
$89.50

Embroidered Linen Skirt
$109

Signature Fit graphic Floral Print Crop Pant
$79.50

Pique Polo Striped Dress
$69.50

I don't really shop there much for myself unless they are having one of their awesome sales.  I bought another pair of shoes there months ago.  Leopard flats for 85% off, total $35.  It'll make a debut on here soon.  Oh, and they also carry petite sizing for us vertically challenged girls.
